You donation of ANY size will help us as we serve young adults all across our county!
Our mission is to serve as a bridge to a better, fuller, and more fulfilling life for young adults who, for whatever reasons, were not able to acquire their high school diplomas.
Specifically, as both an accredited charter school and a certified local conservation corps, we provide 18- to 26-year-olds the opportunity to earn a high school diploma - as opposed to a GED or a certification - while simultaneously offering them PAID job training on a variety of projects that heavily benefit our communities, such as:
- Fire Fuel Reduction & Wildfire Hazard Removal
- Recycling and E-Waste Services
- Green Construction
- Environmental Services
- Graffiti Removal and Neighborhood Power Washing
There is no enrollment fee for Urban Corps and we offer our services free of charge.
Urban Corps benefits the greater San Diego area in two ways primarily.
The first, and most important, is by serving many of our young adults here in San Diego County. Most of our students have experienced various forms of trauma and, regardless of their backgrounds, we provide our students the access to education, job training and support services that will allow them to dream again.
The second way is as a local conservation corp. All this means is that many of the projects that our students work on, as part of their paid job training, serve to improve our county.
From planting trees and preserving affordable housing, to preemptively protecting San Diego homeowners from wildfires and beautifying community parks - as a local conservation corps, our students participate in projects that provide lasting benefits to our county.
Urban Corps is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and California local conservation corps (EIN number is 33-0352148).
ALL funds raised stay in San Diego County.
